Two-way memory function: nitinol spring extends when heated to 50°C (122°F) and contracts when cooled to room temperature or below. 0.7mm wire; 9mm spring diameter; 16mm compressed length when cold; 30mm expanded length when hot. This two-way nitinol spring exerts force in both directions depending on temperature. It extends when heated to 50°C or above and contracts when cooled below 30°C. The extension force is approximately double the contraction force. Longer uncut sections available up to 55mm in cold compressed length.
